Item Two new cavernicolous species of Pseudochthonius Balzan, 1892 (Pseudoscorpiones, Chthoniidae) from Lagoa Santa karst, Minas Gerais, Brazil(2024-04-04) Schimonsky, Diego Monteiro VonTwo new pseudoscorpion species of the genus Pseudochthonius Balzan, 1892 are described from caves in the Lagoa Santa karst area in Southeast Brazil. Pseudochthonius limettioides sp. nov. was collected in ten caves and is a troglobite that lacks eyes and body pigmentation. Pseudochthonius lundi sp. nov. was collected in three caves and is considered a troglophile with only one pair of eyes. Both species might be threatened by mining projects and more studies are needed to better understand many aspects of their biology.Item Two new troglobitic species of Iansaoniscus from Brazilian caves (Crustacea, Isopoda, Pudeoniscidae)(2022-06-14) Cardoso, Giovanna Monticelli; Bastos-Pereira, Rafaela; Ferreira, Rodrigo LopesIansaoniscus species are troglobitic terrestrial isopods of the Pudeoniscidae family. In this work two new species are described from caves in the Bahia state, northeastern Brazil; I. leilae sp. nov. from Toca do Gonçalo cave, in the municipality of Campo Formoso; and I. paulae sp. nov. from Lapa do Bode cave in the municipality of Itaeté. Additionally, ecological notes and conservation status are provided for both new species.Item A new species of Spelunconiscus (Isopoda: Oniscidea: Styloniscidae) for Brazilian caves: new record for the type species and an emended diagnosis for the genus(2022) Bastos-Pereira, Rafaela; Souza, Leila Aparecida ; Sandi, Beatriz ; Ferreira, RodrigoSpelunconiscus Campos-Filho, Araujo and Taiti, 2014 is a monotypic genus of the family Styloniscidae represented by a troglobitic species, Spelunconiscus castroi Campos-Filho, Araujo and Taiti, 2014, from the cave MOC-32, in the state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil. New representatives of this family were found in three additional caves, which revealed a new species, Spelunconiscus septemlacuum sp. nov., from Taboa and Tatuzinhos caves and a new occurrence for the type-species in Retiro cave. The original diagnosis of Spelunconiscus is emended due to the discovery of a spur-like structure in the male pereopod VII ischium, as well as some supplementary traits that have not been previously considered. Spelunconiscus septemlacuum sp. nov. differs from S. castroi in the number of articles of the antennal flagellum, in the proportion between this flagellum and 5th article of peduncle of antenna, in the size of maxilliped endite, in the morphology of male pleopod II and in body size. A discussion is provided for both taxonomic and ecological concerns.Item A new species of cave catfish from Brazil, Trichomycterus rubbioli sp.n., from Serra do Ramalho karstic area, São Francisco River basin, Bahia State (Silurifomes: Trichomycteridae)(2012) Rizzato, Pedro Pereira; Bichuette, Maria ElinaEstudo sobre uma nova espécie de bagre das cavernas do Brasil, Trichomycterus rubbioli sp.n., da área cárstica Serra do Ramalho, bacia do rio São Francisco, Estado da BahiaItem The Laterosensory Canal System in Epigean and Subterranean Ituglanis (Siluriformes: Trichomycteridae), With Comments About Troglomorphism and the Phylogeny of the Genus(Journal of Morphology, 2016) Rizzato, Pedro Pereira; Bichuette, Maria ElinaEstudo sobre o Sistema de Canal Laterosensory em Epigean e Ituglanis Subterrâneo (Siluriformes: Trichomycteridae), com Comentários Sobre o Troglomorfismo e o Filogenia do Gênero
