O Museu de Ciências Naturais da Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa e seu potencial educativo para o ensino da Geodiversidade

Introduction.Science museums, promoting non-formal educational actions, have been popularizing scientific concepts that contribute to the dissemination of Geosciences to school audiences and the community in general. Objective.This work aimed to analyze the educational possibilities of the geodiversity theme, referencing the geoscientific contents exposed at the Museum of Natural Sciences of UEPG. Methodology.We surveyed school visits to the MCN between June and December 2022 and the contents of Geography in the National Common Curricular Base and the Curriculum of the Paraná State Network that address geodiversity. Results.The results showed that a total of 31 educational institutions visited the MCN, totaling 2,580 visitors, as well as the approach of Geodiversity as a curricular content, although with the need for a more significant appropriation of its concept, especially in the BNCC. Conclusion.In this sense, the geoscientific content exposed at the MCN offers the possibility of expanding Geodiversity studies, proving for enriching teaching and learning on this subject and contributing to the educational and socio-environmental demands of the 21st century.
